Kishotenketsu - Print Your Own Zine
A downloadable zine
"I am not Japanese literary scholar, nor do I even speak Japanese so, y'know, grain of salt. But I do know what helped me personally analyse and mimic these kinds of stories. And in my adventures with kishoutenketsu, I've found it helpful to think of it as a thematic structure, not a plot structure."
— Kishōtenketsu: Lessons From Anime About Writing With Theme
This 8 page zine collects everything I at least think I know about Kishōtenketsu, or 4-part story structure. As best as I can tell, most English writers I've seen write about it seem to be missing something important. This is what I think is missing. Am I right?
